Speak loud speak proud

Communication is key and it is probably the most profound skill one can master. Very often we expect our flashy certificates and degree after degree and qualifications to speak for themselves. Experience and associations with this and that and what not.

And yes, of course those are important, but sometimes the things that speaks the loudest is you! That's right, you!

I don't mean that literally of course. The point is all the paper qualifications and portfolios in the world won't matter if the voice can't be heard. Read on for why public speaking is a much needed sometimes overlooked skill.

Why Your Voice Matters

The best of stories need to be told

All the best concepts & visions need a visual as well as a verbal outlet for them to be expressed. You need to be able to tell your story clearly in a way that relates to your audience. Without that it remains only for your to know, and what a shame that would be.

Your view is unique and it matters

Design is often subjective and dialogue is so very often left out in the creative process. Engage, review and offer your viewpoint. You don't need to be right, you just need to share. As you actively engage in critique, it trains you to be able to take a step back and constructively critique ones' own work

Meetings, discussions & coffee talk

There's usually so much talk every day. Talk, talk , talk. You have to hold meetings with potential clients, without any drawings, all you have is your voice to win them over. Then there's endless project meetings where the Architect is usually the chair. Discussions, and phone conversations and now Whatsapp messages, all these are modes of communication that is heavily utilized in our current day to day. A good firm voice and strong communications skills are definitely an asset!

More often than not, our mouths are as important as our hands so speak loud, speak proud.
